Gamepass PC fails to start

Xbox app on PC just fails to start repeatedly, it launches, shows the Xbox logo for 20 seconds then closes itself. I have tried:

Registry edits

Reinstalling Xbox app

wsreset.exe

SFC

Gaming services repair tool

get-appxpackage and remove appaxpackage

These were all suggest by support and none worked. Not sure what else to try and for some reason, support can't seem to do anything about this problem other than resetting my PC which isn't possible right now as I work remotely and can't do this at this time.

I have the same problem. Support has not been helpful at all.

No, They are not. I had GamePass PC earlier and everything used to work properly but then one day I got notification that there is an offer on GamePass Ultimate so I upgraded but since the day GamePass PC subscription ended and GamePass Ultimate subscription started, I can only launch games that are on EA Play and that too from EA Desktop App only.

Now, because the GamePass Ultimate was a 3 month subscription, so I can't even go back to GamePass PC until it's over.

Any game that launches from Xbox app for Windows fails to launch and tried repairing and resetting the Xbox and Microsoft Apps, sign-out and then again sign-in on both the apps but still same thing.

For Example, Forza Horizon 4 used to work earlier but now it does not.

Hey,

It started with PC game pass not getting renewed, after which i tried all the above steps. Then i had a windows PC on trial that i tried to get a Windows home license for which failed too.

So it's safe to assume that all transactions with Microsoft are failing, Xbox PC gamepass or Windows 11 home License keys, or a gift code (this I tried once the cards failed).

I can see a lot of people are having this issue without any helpful suggestions per se.

Also, I do not have a console.

I do hope this gets keyboard and mouse support. As a child/teen, I grew up with great RTS titles on PC and I will give this a try with a controller. Failing that, I am hoping to get a PC in the near future and will play it on GamePass for PC.

Goofy, in situations like this the best option will be reset your PC but keeping games and apps.

Also, before you try performing the factory reset, would be nice trying to uninstall the most recent windows update to see if that can fix the issue.
