Gamepass Games installing twice (Under windows apps and wherever else you choose)

I see. Ali, for now, the game pass app doesn't allow us to choose exactly where we want to install games as of yet, that procedure I sent you is a possible workaround that, in some cases, help, but is not a definitive fix.

But, there's good news hehe, the game pass app on windows is about to get an update that will change that, it will give us the freedom to install the games wherever we want, also, will give us full access to its files. The update has no official date yet but will come soon we believe.

You guys are stuck on an older version of the game. This sometimes happens with games in 8.1 since they autoupdate

To "unstick" your game, try the following:

Uninstall the game. To do this, right click on the icon for the game and choose Uninstall from the menu bar at the bottom.



Then follow the steps below.

1. Press the Windows key
2. Type in Windows Update
3. Select Settings under the search bar you see on the left
4. Choose Check for Updates
5. Install any updates you see that haven't been installed

Then try this:

1. Press Windows Key + R
2. In the box, type wsreset.exe and press Enter
3. This will relaunch the Windows Store
4. Hover over the right-hand side to bring up the charm bar
5. Choose Settings
6. Choose App Updates
7. Choose Sync licenses
8. Download the app again from the store

all windows gamepass games and most windows store game install to the windows app folder, if you open this folder and take ownership to try and view the games then you break the encryption and the games will not work.

go to settings and change storage location back to c:, then install the gaming services update, then change storage location back to wherever you had it.

the gaming services thing has to be installed on c:, if you have your default storage on another drive it errors, this gaming services app is that an app so will try to install to wherever the default storage is but it can only be installed on the system

if you have gamepass pc or gamepass ultimate then you should be able to download those games. is the windows install fully up to date and is there any updates waiting in the microsoft store app.
