Gamepass for PC Failure To Retrieve License

Thank you for confirming that one of the suggested solutions seems to work. I am going to further investigate this issue with FFX/X2. I was able to reproduce the problem that you are reporting. I then attempted to confirm it on another PC, and that one was set to offline and did not run into this error. I will keep this thread open as I further look into this and hopefully provide an update once we find what is causing this error within our PC Game Pass app.

Solution 1: Reinstall the Gaming Services app on your Windows 10/11 device:

Microsoft has published an update to fix this issue. To install the update, follow these steps:

Step 1 of 2:

1. Select the Start button in the lower-left corner of the main screen, and then select Settings.
   
2. Select Update & Security > Check for updates.
   
3. Select View optional updates, and then select update KB5004476 from the list.KB5004476
   
4. Select Download and install.
   
5. Once the update is complete, restart your device.
   
6. You should now be able to install, update, and launch games.
   

Step 2 of 2

1. Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type PowerShell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and select Run as administrator.
   
2. In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:
   
3. get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
   
4. In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:
   
5. start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN
   
6. Install the App on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.
   
7. Restart your device and try to install the game again.
   

Solution 2: Play games offline on Windows 10 using Offline mode; this error could also be attributed to issues with the Microsoft store not recognizing your entitlement to the game. Then scroll down and click on the drop-down arrow and look at the steps for How to enable offline play on your device

I tried literally all of these steps and none of it worked. I suspect that the offline mode method might have worked the only issue is that for me to be able to play a game in offline mode I need to first have successfully launched the game while connected to the internet. I really hope we can get this issue resolved soon, thank you again.

as I can retrieve the license trasferecia

Did you know Microsoft can actually retrieve the license on the Xbox One, so individuals that call in for a refund on a game will receive that refund, but they will retrieve the content on the Xbox One!?

In the Xbox 360 there was no way to process this, so people would call in to get a refund, but would keep the game as well now they can't do their shady tricks. :c

Then if they lie Microsoft would have authority to retrieve the license over that game that they issued out to the customer.
