GameDVR still struggles to upload clips recorded on external to Onedrive

I recommend to try this work around:

1. Xbox Button > Broadcast & Capture
   • Recent captures - choose the Xbox clip you would like to upload
   • Try clicking -- Share > OneDrive

I'm getting the same issue. I'm trying to record onto an external hard drive. Never had problems before and now all of my clips are 22-25 seconds. I just recorded a full hour of gameplay and went to upload it to onedrive and all that was there was 22 seconds
of it. Even though I checked multiple times to see if it was still recording.

Hi, you can use the xbox dvr but the length is short, if you want to record longer videos you'll need an external capture card. you can dowload the clips you record with the dvr with the xbox app on the pc or by uploading them on onedrive.

Record a game clip, then either upload it to OneDrive or YouTube. It's been over 6 weeks since you started this thread and we're still waiting for the evidence.

The clips will play fine on the xbox and it doesnt seem to make a difference if I use the upload studio, the trim tool or neither, they still dont work once they are uploaded to OneDrive or recorded straight onto an external hard drive.

However, this morning I did a full factory reset of the Xbox and tried recording both to OneDrive and to the external hard drive.

OneDrive still didnt work the same way as it has been doing, but the hard drive did play two videos on my laptop like normal. I'm unsure if it will continue to work on my hard drive, but that's my preferred way of saving captures so for now it will do. The
xbox is just out of warrenty (of course) but I do pay a company a monthly fee to protect it from breakdown and damage so I may contact them if the problem happens on the hard drive again and see if its covered specifically for hardware failure.
