Gamebar audio doesn't pick up mic

1. Check your audio settings in Xbox Game Bar to make sure your microphone is selected as the input device.
2. Update audio drivers to the latest version.
3. Reset Xbox Game Bar to default settings.
4. Disable exclusive control of your microphone in other applications like Discord.
5. Check your privacy settings to make sure microphone access is allowed in Xbox Game Bar.

Sorry to hear about your recording issues. Lets see if we can get them fixed.

So recording game clips, by default, is not setup to record a users audio for privacy reasons. However, you can do something to bypass this.

• If you right click the Speakers icon in the bottom right hand side and select Sounds,
  
• then navigate to the Recording tab. You should see your Microphone listed there.
  
• Double click that and select the Listen tab in the new pop up window that appears.
  
• Once on this new tab, select the Listen to this Device check box.
  

This should now allow your microphone to be picked up when recording game clips.

Please note, this can cause a "double audio" issue where you can hear yourself talking now. This can be controlled in the Volume Mixer area of your computer (Right click the speakers icon again and select Volume Mixer. You should see your microphone listed there as a source, you can turn that down to a desirable level for yourself.

So I can't have it pick up my mic without me actually having to hear myself?

in the Party Audio settings you should see a setting for Mic Sensitivity.
try turning that down so that the mic doesn't pick up the sound from the headset/tv.

If you test another console or another headset on your network do you see the exact same issue?
