Game won't boot, gives offline error message even though I am online

Please make sure your Xbox profile is set as your home Xbox. To do this please go to Settings > General > Personalisation > My home Xbox and select Make this my home Xbox.

And then do the power cycle by holding down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off the console, then unplugging it for a few minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on.

Next is to ensure that your network connection is stable. Kindly restart your router or switching to a wired connection if you're using Wi-Fi.

Then test your network connection, please go to settings> network> network settings> test network connection.

The result should show up as "All good"

After testing your network please launch your game and see if it works.

How is even possible for someone or something to boot you offline? I can see out of their game in a specific game, but completely offline?

Why would your ISP give a crap about you being booted offline from xbox live? How is that their problem?

I am not given the option of declining the update. I have no connection problem, and although I disconnect from the internet I still get the "update failed" message.

I figure I've gotta be missing something.

I downloaded the game, no problem. But know matter how I try to run it, online, offline, different user, I get the update error and only the "ok" option.

Not understanding why it won't play offline, or more precisely why the machine keeps "acting" online whether it is or not.

I decline the message to connect, but it makes no difference.

After trying everything else, I bought a new hard drive and I still get the same error message. Whether online or offline, the game still won't load. Is there anything else I can try?

Hi, thanks for all the messages of advise for trying to fix this update error. Unfortunately even the offline update didn't work. Same error message. Am now trying to return the console/bundle to Game.co.uk
- whose customer service has been lousy!!
