Game updates

Greetings,

I start playing Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 and get an update, which is fine, I then go on the play one of the following;

Trials HD, Trials Evolution, Mercury, Hydro Thunder Hurricane, Peggle, Pinball FX2

for which I may also get an update. The problem is when I go back to play PGA 14 I get the update I got maybe an hour ago again. So play game for a while and play one of the others and I may get an update again for that game. It's as if one game update is
being overwritten by another so when the game checks to see if the update is valid, which it will not be, it then proceeds to download it again.

The above list of games is not exhaustive they are just the ones I have tried over the course of a few hours.

Probably answering myself here but if a game appears in my notifications saying launch, am i right to assume this has been updated? I noticed BF4 and COD in there just now so im assuming they have been updated.

ah so that's why I keep getting a notification to launch fifa 14! despite already playing it thought there may have been a problem with the install

 

Hi, it could be that the system cache is full, Try emptying the cache, the games will update again, but hopefully, not anymore after that 1 time. Here is instructions for emptying the cache

Yeah just posted on Twitter about clearing the cache, which I'll try at the weekend and will let you know if it solves the issue.

Do you know;

Does the cache have a fixed size?

Does a more recent update for a game over write older updates or are the older updates still used/required?

I sometimes tend to cycle through my games and as such will be downloading a few updates in the near future, which is why I tend/try not to clear the cache.

 

Yes the cache is a fixed size, and I'm not sure if a newer update overwrites an older one, I think that depends on the game.

Sorry for the delay in replying but been busy with work.

Anyway problem was solved by clearing the cache and getting updates for the games I play most.
