Game Updates and Digital Downloads Not Working

Any help here is appreciated and welcome. Started having issues with installing updates for games i have on disc. Would stick around 50 or 95% and then just stop. Also purchased Forza Horizon 2 and tried to download. EVERY time it gets to 8% and then
keeps switching between Queued and Installing, NEVER getting past 8% but i see my network connection download over 15-20gb over night but no progress. I have tried resets and uninstalls. I was able to do a system update without issue including the downloads.
If i install the 11mb day one pack for forza 2 that installs no problem. I have sent the Xbox One in for repair and just got it back. Same exact issues. NO difference. They are trying to have me check with my ISP on ports being open however if this was
the issue wouldnt everying just stick at 0%?? Please any help is appreciated. about 6 months ago i was able to download and install madden 15 without any issue other then it taking overnight, which i am fine with. Ideas, thoughts, is this a common issue
with this system???

The same thing happens to me when I try to play it on Xbox One. Why are they selling broken games that can't be refunded?!

I purchased a digital download for Fable 2 yesterday on Amazon, after about 6 hours of waiting for it to download I tried starting it up but it just fades into a brownish-gray screen until I exit out of it. I can still go to the home screen and everything
so it's not the console that's frozen. I have a broken disk version of it too so it SHOULD be going into the black and white lionhead studios intro but it doesn't even get that far. I just want to play this game

 

Hey there, janovich5! I'm very sorry to see any issues downloading content! Hopefully we can nail down what you are running into!

Whoever you spoke to that suggested you open ports isn't wrong. It tends to resolve a lot of issues like that one you are experiencing. However, if you have multiple consoles in the house, this is not suggested.

When you say that you are seeing your download at 15-20 GB with your network connection, where are you seeing that? To see what you Xbox sees your connection as, you will want to launch up the detailed network statistics under
Network Settings. Once you have, please post up your results from that.

Your router that you are connected to may have known issues that could be causing this block that you're seeing. If you could, please post up your router and modem manufacturer and model. This way we can see if there are any known issues and if we can get
them all sorted.

Post back with all of these and we'll start from there! It's a good basic start to get a layout of your network, and these items will help me with that. :3

 

Hello. I didnt think what they were saying was wrong i just know my NAT is open and i do seem to be able to download system updates and small packages ok it seems like the 11mb addon pack for Forza 2. So i didnt think it would be a port problem due to those
working.

And yes i did get the statistics from the network settings under the detailed statistics and bandwidth usage. Thats where i accumulated the hourly usage and total over a few days of leaving it on all day and all night was around 50gb and nothing for the
games that i tried finished.

I do have DSL so i have a modem supplied by Verizon that i use to bridge the connection and my router is an ASUS RT-N66U.

Any help is appreciated. I have done all i think i can from my network side. I have tried hard wired and wireless.

Another quick note in this issue. I reset my router and reconfigured. Setup my port forwarding again. Then ran a port test and after setting up the forwarding to the xbox one everything says the port is not open. If i change it to the ip of my pc it shows
open like it needs to be. I did set the xbox one as static in my router and in the xbox itself. But anytime i have these ports forwarded to the xbox it does not show that they are open. Assuming this could be the issue, could it be the NIC inside the X1?

For your modem supplied from Verizon, is that device set up in bridge mode? When running on DSL, that modem that you receive generally has wireless capabilities built into it. Hooking a router up to that would cause NAT issues, and might be the reason why
you are seeing it as not having an Open NAT now after the reset.

When you run the detailed network statistics, do you see anything other than 0% for packet loss? This would cause issues, as we do not want that to be higher than 0%. And what is your ping when you do that test?

At this point, I haven't ruled out your network yet, so I cannot say that the NIC in the Xbox One is causing the issue. Post back with the above information, and we'll see what options we have from there.
