Hi, I am Xbox 360 user in Singapore, and my Xbox 360 I bought in Singapore .if I will to buy a game from united state , am I able to play it ?

will doing this get me banned?

I was searching on google for Xbox One games that i stumbled upon a post from Reddit where they told others to buy games from other stores(by changing Xbox One region) because they're cheaper that way.

some said it can get you banned and others say Microsoft can also remove your existing games if you do it,

well my question is, will changing my region to buy cheaper games get me banned?

Some disks are read only in certain regions while others are region free thats usually why you buy games and consoles from your own region

xbox asia would be the wrong region as its region 3 I think rather then region 1 which is what is needed for xbox games in north america

Not necessarily. Some video game discs are set up for different regions and cannot be played on consoles from different regions. For instance, North America is set up for the NTSC system and Europe and Asia (I believe) are set up on the PAL system. This
means that consoles set for each of those regions are specific and will not be able to play games purchased from another region.

Singapore uses the NTSC/J format.

Some games are region free and can be played on a local SG console. Example: Battleship (NTSC), Velvet Assassin (PAL).

You can play games from the U.S. region or region free,not just games from the PAL region.

If you buy games from Europe you will need a PAL console to play them.

If the game is region free then yes you can buy it in one region and play it on a console from a different region.

It might be that while the Chinese Xbox One became region free (in order to play other game discs from other countries), the Chinese specific operating system still locks the User Interface to Chinese.

So "region free" might only refer to game regions being playable on the Chinese Xbox One.

If you want a different UI language or be able to buy from other marketplace regions, you might have to buy a non-Chinese Xbox One.
