    Game taking space but it's not even there?


    I was downloading a game on the Xbox app (The new Forza game), and I needed to restart my computer in the middle of it, I come back to it not even being there yet still taking my storage, why did this happen ?

    But appears here (Believe this is the file made by the Xbox app to preserve space for the game but I can't actually delete it to fix it...)

    As a general statement, why do current generation games take up so much space?

    The one thing no-one mentions. DRM.

    Yes, encoding a game to a particular gt and console also takes up space.
    Noone mentions DRM because it does not take a significant amount of space. Not even close.

    Hello Mesanoe,

    Even though the game is taking space on the SSD it still needs to finish downloading from what I got with your message you need to uninstall a game to free up space for the rest of the game to download.

    Is this happening on PC, right?
    If yes, are you on Windows 11 or 10?
    If you try looking for the game pressing Windows key and then start typing Sea of thieves, are you able to see the app listed?

    And please tell me briefly which troubleshooting steps you have done so far to fix this
    In that way I can advise you different things

    Out of interest is one of the 4 games you own BF3. That can take a lot of space for updates even if you don't buy the extra content.
