    Game Streaming native app for Xbox One?


    Was playing The Ascent co-op with a friend - me with a XSX, him with a XB1X - horrible load times ensued bottle necked with his older system. Decided to check if it was on Cloud Gaming on my Win10 machine - it was, and clearly on a Series grade server blade with loading times on par with my XSX. Smooth and fluid, it felt very responsive on streaming.

    Friend doesn't have PC, so I suggest he join the Insider program to get the Chromium based Edge. I still have my XB1X hooked up in the other room - quickly join the insider Delta ring, try out Cloud Gaming on Chromium Edge....and the latency and general performance makes it almost unplayable.

    Which leads me to the post title - does MS have plans to make a native Cloud Gaming native app for the One consoles? This would open a wonderful door to access Series performance levels on the older hardware. The web browser is just too chunky on Xbox.

    Microsoft Store and Steam Deck

    That’s not possible except for Cloud Streaming. Steam Deck runs Linux, and the Xbox app doesn’t support PC streaming.

    You’ll have to install Windows to play Windows Store games on Steam deck natively or stream using a third party solution from a Windows PC

    Although Twitch tell me they cannot support this issue and MS tell me it's a Twitch issue: I don't think Twitch values Xbox native-Twitch app streamers. They don't bring any where near the volume of traffic to Twitch that others do. Anybody who streams professionally i.e. generates a revenue for Twitch and themselves tends to use dedicated capture hardware. The bad news is, this isn't a priority for either company.

    Has anybody tested native-app streaming with one of the other providers?

    Xbox doesn't have any VR headset that works native on games, I think you can use the PC and the streaming to PC but this isn't native.
