"Game Streaming is turned off on your Xbox One"

Unable to stream my Xbox to my Windows 10 PC. Here is what has been conducted so far and still receiving the same error message.

- First time trying to use the stream feature

- All Windows updates are installed

- Windows Media Feature Packs were installed

- Did a hard restart on my Xbox

- Verified the Xbox Console Companion is set to pass through Windows Firewall

- Settings - Preferences - Xbox App Connectivity - "Allow connections from any device" selected, "Allow Play to streaming" checked, "Allow game streaming to other devices" checked.

- NAT type = Open

- Can connect the console to the Xbox Console Companion app without any problems

- Logged out of and back into both the console and Xbox Console Companion app

I'm at a loss for what to do next. Is this bugged or am I missing something?

No error message. A dialog box pops up after initiating Game Streaming that says “Game Streaming is turned off on your Xbox one. To turn it back on, go to your console and open Settings > Preferences.”

Do you get any error messages? If so what are they. That may help to diagnose the problem.

Hey i just wanted to chime in case someone else has this same issue.

When streaming to PC from Xbox One here's this is the process to get party chat to work.

Turn on your xbox, get into your party and into the game.

Turn on streaming to PC.

Turn off your controller and turn it back on and it will work.

Not sure why I have to do this, but it's the only way to make it work.

Currently the Xbox One can only stream via mirroring. So whatever the Xbox One has is what the streaming displays on your PC. Without obtaining additional cables/hardware (splitters, etc.) you will need to removing the HDMI IN for your cable box and plug
it directly in to the TV. This way the TV can be in use under a different HDMI input while your Xbox is on and you can stream from a different room.

The Xbox has to be turned on to stream, but it's not to say that you can't have the Xbox One turned on and the TV turned off. This way you can stream to your PC with the TV off and only the hum of the Xbox One.

Why does turning off the WMM work for the xbox one? don't you need that enabled for streaming video and faster gaming connections?
