Game save overridden with another profile after Quick Resume - How to restore old game save?

While playing on Xbox we have two profiles, mine and the one of my girlfriend. After Quick Resuming Tetris Effect Connected, I switched from her to my profile and started playing. I noticed it showed my name in online multiplayer correctly, but strangley my girlfriends guardian avatar was displayed instead (the avatars selectable within the game)

I noticed that after playing my profiles local game save has been overridden with all of the data of my girlfriends profile (e.g. High Scores in offline Modes, Collectibles). This is quite frustrating as there is now hours of progress lost. Re-Installing did not fixed the issue.

I already reached out to Zendesk support, but they cannot restore my old game save. I'm wondering as all the game saves are synched to the cloud, there should be some kind of file history. So is their an option to restore an older version of your saved profile?

And also wondering if that is a general issue with Quick Resume that when you use it and switch profiles there is a risk that your game saves are getting overridden? Because for sure that's a bug I don't want to face ever again, especially if there is no backup option to get an old save (and you can not save this game on your own, just saying)

Unfortunatley that all did not help, as I fear the after merging the saves it was already synched to the Cloud.

I don't know if this is a bug in the Game (Tetris Effect Connected) or with Quick Resume though. But it's sad that there is actually no backup option to restore game save to previous version in case somethings happens.

I'm not sure what caused this glitch, if it was an issue with the game, with the quick resume feature, or with the cloud syncing, but unfortunately there is no backup/restore option for cloud saves. I'm really sorry about this.

What I would suggest you to do is to report this problem to the Xbox team, so they can investigate what caused this. This will not help you to restore your save, but it might let the Xbox team responsible for development know what might have caused it and implement something in the future to stop this from happening again.

As far as I know, there is no known bug with the quick resume feature about merging/losing game saves. You are the first case I've seen here on the community reporting this.

Now, about your save, your only option is to clear the local saves on your console, power reset it and try to play the game again. If the save shown when you start the game is your grilfriend's one, then I'm sorry but there is nothing you can do.

To clear the local saves on your console, please press the Xbox button > Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Storage. On the Manage storage devices screen, select Clear local saved games.

Then, power reset your console so its cache is cleared:

1. Turn off your console and your router/modem.

2. Unplug all the cables from both devices (power, HDMI, etc..) and wait 2 minutes.

3. After 2 minutes, plug all the cables in again on your router/modem and wait for all the lights to show up.

4. Plug all the cables on your console and turn it on.

Try to start the game and see how it goes. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.

Based on support article, it should have been that the console can at lease save more than 3 titles. However, you may be unable to go back to your saves when you have less memory.

Quick Resume feature allows the Series X|S consoles to store three save states for full-memory Xbox Series X|S titles. Xbox One, Xbox 360, and original Xbox console titles use less memory, so the consoles can store more than three when these titles are saved.
