Game save data for Starfield on Cloud gaming

I have had the same issue, the problem is the "cloud beta" which is totally garbage. I needed up loosing 2 weeks of Starfield game play because of the issues with "cloud beta". If you decide yo continue playing I can just about guarantee it will get worse. No one at xbox knows why the game doesn't synch and cloud save like it should, they will just tell you "it's a known issue"....if that's the case **** fix it already xbox.....

    :)

To start, I would recommend checking if your Xbox Live account is properly synced with your game save data. You can do this by going to the "Settings" menu on your Xbox console, selecting "System," and then "Storage." From there, you can check if your game save data is properly synced with your Xbox Live account.

If your game save data is not properly synced, you can try manually syncing it by going to the "Manage Game & Add-ons" option for Starfield and selecting "Saved Data." From there, you can select "Sync Now" to manually sync your game save data with your Xbox Live account.

    Kind regards,

    Mae Sev.

There is no "Sync Now" option. At least not on my xbox.

It would be great if there was a fix for this issue as i have lost almost 50 hours progress and Sync issues still persist. For the record I have 1gb Internet speed with 0 issues. As suggested elsewhere I check my network connection and xbox reports all is good and no problems with any other game nor cloud gaming.

That’s a pretty unhelpful answer given that there’s no “sync now” option.

    Hello Wayne Stuck,

Thank you for sharing this with us and welcome to Xbox Forums.

We understand that you've been experiencing issues with the cloud beta for Starfield. I know how you feel about to lose progress in a game due to technical issues. Based on the information provided, there could be possibility that the cause for the issue with Starfield game save data on Cloud gaming could be related to a problem with the "cloud beta" feature. It is possible that the feature is not working correctly, causing the game save data to not sync and save properly. It is also possible that there may be other factors contributing to the issue. No worries let's work on this together.

Before we proceed, can you provide more details about the issue you are experiencing with Starfield game save data on Cloud gaming? Is the issue with the cloud present to this game only?

To start, I would recommend checking if your Xbox Live account is properly synced with your game save data. You can do this by going to the "Settings" menu on your Xbox console, selecting "System," and then "Storage." From there, you can check if your game save data is properly synced with your Xbox Live account.

If your game save data is not properly synced, you can try manually syncing it by going to the "Manage Game & Add-ons" option for Starfield and selecting "Saved Data." From there, you can select "Sync Now" to manually sync your game save data with your Xbox Live account.

In the meantime, I would also recommend regularly backing up your game save data to an external storage device or to your console's internal storage to prevent any further loss of progress.

Game save data for Starfield on Cloud gaming

    Hi

can you elaborate on these instructions please?

on my xbox series x i go to "settings", then "system", then "storage devices" (storage does not exist by the way)

then i select the storage where the game is installed?

    then "view contents" ?

then on starfield i select "manage game and add ons"

then on "saved data" i see 2 options

one has my gamer tag which is 75mb in size and the "reserved space" which is 103mb in size

here there are only options to delete even when i click on it

how to enable this "sync now" option?

i have never seen a "sync" option even on xbox one or xbox 360, i must be blind :)

if it's not there it means it synced?

tried again to start the game on Windows 11 home pc and same it asks to connect here and then your other peripheral is taking too much time to sync with cloud

why can't we have options to sync ourselves, like a button on all gamepass devices and we see progress and then when done we go to the other device (pc, xcloud, etc...) and play?

i have gamepass ultimate, i am not playing the steam version, i play on xbox, xcloud and pc via gamepass

    if that changes something

    thanks

    Donald
