Game Pass Xbox account stuck in CHINESE

I don't know why this happened, but there's no way to find help, get help, or talk to people that can provide help.
It's surprising to see that Microsoft is so inept after all these years...

One possibility is that I have a VPN that connects to China, and that was active when I registered my account and set up my payment information. I never gave a Chinese billing address or any Chinese information. I think you guys had some brilliant programmer decide that if someone signs up on a CN IP address, then they need to have a Chinese account and just ignore everything else.

I set up my account and didn't get to enjoy it for a single minute. It's been ruined since creation. I requested a refund and looked to see if there's some way to just close it or make a new one from scratch. Apparently there's no way to fix this?

The self help available is just trash, utter garbage, not helpful at all. Extremely hard to navigate. It's impossible to reach a human.
Congratulations, you're what's wrong with Corporate America. Being this inept can't be good for business and stock prices.

Change it back to 'America' instead of 'China' and maybe we can make some progress here.

You can try requesting a call back or chat with support at http://support.xbox.com/contact-us If you don't see those options, change the category/topic until you do. Billing & Subscriptions and "I don't recognize a charge" typically works.

However, the fact that you used a VPN for China is most likely the cause. Because of very strict government regulations in that country, they have had consoles locked to that region.

Region was set to China. I worked there five years ago.

Region setting was on China instead of USA.

you have the region set to china for the actual Xbox, this needs changing to US. this IS the only reason for doing this, it will have changed the region on the Xbox when you used the vpn with Chinese IP. if you cannot change it then you may need to fully factory reset the console.

if the console set to Chinese due to the vpn and it was US before then you may be locked to that region for 3 months as region changing is restricted.

this is your own fault for using a vpn and having it located to china.
