Game pass ultimate subscription paid and current but isn't working on One or S.

"It didn't work; the link says, 'Unfortunately, this offer is currently only available to members with paid subscriptions to PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. If you purchased Game Pass within the last 7 days, please try again later.' However, Game Pass was purchased on September 17th."

Based on the terms and conditions for the Ultimate Game Pass, when you agreed to it the terms it states that the "Pass [will] automatically upgrade your existing Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass membership(s) to Ultimate at a conversion ratio each based
on days remaining" and warns you that "all conversion to Ultimate are final: once converted, you cannot re-convert your Ultimate membership back to a previous membership".

Basically, your Xbox Live Subscription was cancelled because you opted into the Ultimate Game Pass and it includes the service. However, now that you've cancelled your Ultimate subscription it should run until the current paid period concludes and you will
need to purchase a new Xbox Live Subscription to continue service.

Per Game Pass FAQ page, you can purchase Ultimate subscription (store > memberships) and the time you have in your current Game Pass subscription will then convert into the Ultimate subscription. Note it's not a one to one conversion.

The Game Pass ultimate combines your Xbox Live Subscription and game together into one subscription. When you tried the 1 month you also converted your remaining subscription for the remainder of your current Xbox live Gold subscription to the Ultimate
Game Pass for free.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate converts your current subscriptions to Ultimate and ends 1 month after your current one that has the latest date of expiry on it.
