Game Pass Ultimate subscription not applying to my console

That only applies to game pass ultimate and not game pass for Xbox, they are two separate subscriptions

As long as it shows active no need for any settings, the console should automatically detect the active subscription.

Please try removing and re-adding your account, Scott as part of troubleshooting steps.

If that didn't work resetting the console keeping games and apps will be the next option. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

just to be sure, does the country region specified on the console match the country region specified on your account and matches your actual location?

If so then you could also try removing your profile, restarting the console and adding your profile again. Keep in mind that you will need the account credentials to add the profile again. For the steps on how to add or remove profiles see this link:

So that explains why the subscription ended early. When you subscribe to the Game Pass Ultimate with Live Gold active in your account your subscription is converted to Game Pass Ultimate and a conversion fee is applied.
