Game Pass Ultimate, no backwards compatibility gold membership

Purchasing Xbox Game pass Ultimate, cancels your gold membership and game pass membership, and replaces it with ultimate which includes both gold and game pass.

Sorry, I clicked the option "I have the same question" but not exactly what I have in mind. My question relates to options where there are Xbox 360 games available to play with Xbox Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership. Do I have to own both Xbox 360 console and Xbox One console to buy and download the games for Xbox 360 that are available each month through Xbox Gold membership? I have access only to my Xbox One console now. I have also Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership just renewed. What does the backward compatibility mean regarding playing Xbox 360 games on Xbox One and how do I unlock the games to play on Xbox One, if needed?

Game Pass Games are subscription based games, and only Backwards Compatible 360 games for the Xbox One work with Game Pass.

If you have Game Pass Ultimate, which includes Gold, you can keep the Games With Gold for Xbox 360. But with only Game Pass, you can't play any backwards compatible games on the 360, and on the Xbox One, the games stop working after your Game Pass trial
ran out.

So in short: No, you can't keep Game Pass Games, be it Xbox One or Xbox 360 games. And Game Pass doesn't work on original Xbox 360 consoles at all.

You can't convert it to Game Pass directly.

If you however have an active Game Pass ULTIMATE subscription (that combines Gold and Game Pass), the Gold membership card will add time to your Ultimate Membership.

However, since ULTIMATE combines two subscriptions, you won't get the full 3 months from the "Gold only" membership card.

According to the
Game Pass ULTIMATE FAQ page you will get 50 days of Game Pass ULTIMATE added to your subscription with a 3 month Gold prepaid card.

When you convert to Game Pass Ultimate it automatically upgrades your existing Gold membership as is mentioned in the official rules. Therefore in your case my advice would be to contact Xbox Support and explain to them your situation and see if they can
help restore your Gold subscription.
