Game Pass Ultimate | K&M Support on Xbox Cloud

Hello everyone,

today, I'm sliding in with keyboard & mouse support for Xbox Cloud.
I've subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate on 25th May to try it out because of the many games and features (such as Xbox Cloud) it has, but unfortunately, I'm kinda disappointed. It seems like after years of Xbox Cloud development, they still haven't added K&M support! So, I searched a bit on the internet to see if there are any news about this. According to many sources, such as this or this one, head of MS flight simulator Jorg Neumann has talked about platform-level K&M support on Xbox Cloud and hoped that it is done by June or so. But Microsoft themselves never really said anything, even tho we're almost in June already. Nothing in Xbox Insider, no talks about it on the Xbox insider Subreddit, literally nothing.

What do you guys think about this silence and the delay of this? I understand that Xbox Cloud is still a beta, but it is really sad to see such a rich and powerful company fail in the simplest things.

Can staff maybe give us any info on this? Maybe a date or something? I don't want to pay 12,99€ every month to see if it has been (properly) added, so I want a date for this.

No, that's not how it works

There has to be an entire low latency transmission layer in the interface you're using to stream.

This is exactly the same kinds of things that had to be done to introduce K&M in the first place locally on the console well after launch. It's not just making a virtual plug.

No one who posts here has any information on internal developement issues or schedules

Due to the pandemic, many things have been delayed

As these games in the cloud run on Xbox Series X hardware, it is likely assigned a lower priority than streaming quality for example. It is not a trivial thing to implement as it requires its own input timings and APIs. In June is the annual press conference where major things are announced, if there is information to share it'll be there

thanks for replying to my question. I understand that not all of the Xbox Cloud games can immediately be changed to support K&M, but some of the console versions of those actually have native K&M support, which means that the Xbox platform team would only need to tweak a few things and enable that feature for those select games. And for those other games, Microsoft can just use the PC version of the games and use the power of the Azure cloud to deliver good experiences while also having controller and K&M support at the same time, because the PC versions of most games also natively support controllers from many different vendors.

Where can I find more info about the annual press conference such as an exact date?
