Game Pass Ultimate Family Sharing - 2020

I just upgraded to Game Pass Ultimate today because my kid really wanted to be able play games on the PC when the console was not available (since we have it on our main TV). We have X Box One S, use Microsoft Family, and have all the subscriptions linked
to my parent account.

I'm hugely disappointed to find out that you CANNOT family share your Gamepass subscription games on the PC (similar to the 'home' feature on the console). I believe I read somewhere that you can share purchased games but I'd love to find out if Microsoft
has fixed the sharing of subscription based games. There's really no reason at all you should be prevented from sharing amongst members of the same Microsoft Family on the exact same PC. It's no different than what's already available on the console.

Now, Microsoft didn't lie about this feature not being present but they also didn't try to help you understand it at all either in the FAQ on the Gamepass Ultimate page before you sign up. It's misleading and annoying.

If there's is a fix other than cancelling your subscription at the parent level and registering at the child level please let me know. I'd prefer to keep the subscriptions with the adult account for a number of reasons. Also, I'm not interested in any
of the work arounds floating around where I log myself into games on my kid's Window's ID. Doing so would bypass the Family Privacy and Security protocols and is not something I'm interested in. Looking for a real long-term solution please.

I cannot say that this is a bullet proof, long-term answer other then some of the work arounds that you are not interested in.

As for a more official solution to your problem, I would be surprised, if it isn't on the teams' (the team that oversees the Microsoft Family Settings functions that is) of situations to which they want to expand. I know that there has been allot of changes
with the family settings, and with Game Pass over the last year, and with the new Xbox coming soon, I suspect we will see further changes. That being said, that is more speculation on my part then anything.

Yes I think there should be a Game Pass Ultimate Family package for 4 or 5 users to share.

No, game pass ultimate is not required to play FS 2020. you can play it with a standard game pass subscription
