Correct, but that still does not give him access to any of the games that I have already purchased, or access to the game pass, or access to Xbox live. He still would have to get his own Xbox live subscription and game pass subscription and purchase any other games he wants to download, all of which I have already paid for

Xbox Game Pass CANNOT be stacked like the Xbox Live Gold subscription can with pre-paid codes. Each account can only have one 12 month Game Pass subscription at a time.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. However, pre-paid cards do not have expiration dates so you are able to apply the second 12 month code after the first 12 month cycle is over.

Games with gold only works if you have a PAID subscription. You can still enjoy the benefits of Xbox Live with the gold 2-day pass; however, you will not have access to any free downloads with "Games with Gold".

Unless you've actually paid for the game, you don't own it. Game Pass is sort of like Netflix. You get access to the games included while you have the subscription. To continue playing without the subscription, you have to purchase it.
