Game Pass Steals My Games???

I subscribed to Game Pass a few months ago and now it seems that all the games I had previously owned that happen to be in the Game Pass "store" are no longer owned by me. Those games do not show up in my library. They are apparently now owned by Microsoft!
Why is Game Pass stealing all my games? How do I get them back? Now I know why MS made it so hard to even determine which games on your Xbox are yours and which are their's.

What do I need to do to regain ownership of the games I've already purchased from Microsoft and how do I prevent them from stealing my games in the future?

If you purchased the game it is yours no if and or buts about it. Just restart your xbox and make sure you actually are looking in the correct place for the game if you uninstalled it it will still be there just in the ready to install list.

As not to repeat all that has been said before me. Keep this real simple.

Gamepass games change quite regularly - If they are not listed in the Gamepass section you no longer have access to them. Once they are removed to regain ownership you will need to purchase the game from the store.

I had already purchased the games *before* I subscribed to Game Pass. So after Game Pass I need to purchase the games again??? Yikes! That sounds more like Apple than Microsoft.

When you go into game pass, and click on the game you already own, does it give you the option to download with game pass, as a buy option?

If you own the game, the buy option will no be there, indicating that the game is already owned by the account using Game Pass.

When you go to your installed games, are the games you are concerned about (already installed??) listed there? or if they are not installed are they present in the able to install list?

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice on what to do in this situation. I can totally understand how this could be confusing but maybe we can help. If you had purchased your games that are also included in Game Pass, they will probably be in the
Game Pass section of My Games & apps until you unsubscribe. When you do, I recommend

removing and redownloading your profile so that the license information on your console can be updated with the most recent information off of Xbox Live. It should repopulate in the appropriate library afterwards.

Ahhh! Thank you! This will save a lot of time. Much easier to re-do my profile than reinstalling 2 TB of games (I think).

Awesome to see that your issue has been sorted out. I can't imagine what it'd feel like if I suddenly was unable to access the games I purchased.

Just an FYI though, you can always check your order history. It should show all the digital games, DLCs, subscriptions, gift cards, etc., you've purchased with your account.

If your games are there, then you should be able to play them or re-download them. If for some reason they are there, and you can't access them, then it's more than likely some kind of bug or potentially a network issue (with home gold sharing).
