Game Pass Sharing Issues

Hello

We are having an issue with Game Pass Ultimate and sharing it across 2 consoles.

My Xbox is set as the home Xbox and both my and my son's profiles are on it.

My son's Xbox has both of our profiles on it.

In the past, he was able to access games that were installed through my profile

But after a console change, he is no longer able to do that.

Now if my profile installs and then signs out and changes to his profile it tells him that he does not have access and to sign in to the profile that purchased the game.

In my Microsoft account, there are only 2 Xboxes listed and from what I have read this should be working.

Please advise what we are doing incorrectly.

No. It works the same whether you purchase the games or play them from Game Pass. They will only share on your Home console or if you are signed into a non-Home console.

So if I understand correctly.

If I purchase the game with cash/credit it shares across Xboxes and profiles.

If I "purchase" it with Game Pass Ulitmate it only works if I am signed into the Xbox.

Is this the way it should work?

That is actually the same scenario you are in. On the non-Home console, you would have to be the one to sign in and download the games, but you would also need to be signed in in order for anyone else to use them on that console.

The Home setting is what allows you to share with other profiles. So your son will only be able to access your games on that console. You can only have 1 console set as your Home at a time. On the non-Home console, you would also have to be signed in in order for your son to play your games.

Based on this response we should be able to share games as long as my profile is the one that downloads/installs it.

Is this not correct?
