Game Pass renewed without having reoccuring payments active

I cancelled my automatic renewal of Game Pass one day before renewal und was charged the next day for another 3 months. It keeps telling me that the Game Pass will expire in one week and notify me of the automatic renewal one day after the (not wanted)payment
has been made. After trying to cancel the Games Pass it tells me that a payment has already been made and doesn't let me cancel the subscription, which is per se cancelled because automatic renewal is turned off.

There is no way to speak with a human or write an email. Trying to speak with a human reroutes me to several different pages and gets me nowhere.

Is this the kind of practice MS needs to keep it's customers??? I will cancel all of my XBox Gold (don't play multiplayer and free games are basically worthless to me) and Office 365 is also useless to me, because this experience is probably the worst I
have been through, ever!

I cancelled my Xbox game pass before it renewed but it still sent the payment through and now I don’t have access for this month even though I paid for it. How do I get access without having to pay again?

You'll need to contact support and speak to billing for assistance. Contact Us | Xbox Support (click no thanks to the virtual assistant, and then choose your categories
and topics. If the options for support chat or a call back do not show, choose another topic)

Sorry to hear about this experience. I recommend
requesting a refund here since you were charged for a gamepass that has been cancelled.

In the future you may also want to cancel auto renewal for these subscriptions right away if you do not plan on renewing. You can

turn off auto renewal the same day you get the subscription. You wouldn't experience any interruption in services. The option would be right next to the cancel subscription option. Pre paid subscription cards would also help, that's the way I get all of
my subscriptions.

Before completing your subscription, make sure you have turned off auto-renew. Enabling auto-renew will prompt you to use a separate payment method in order to continue reoccurring payments. Let us know if you have further questions!

That was probably the issue. Got round it by buying myself an Amazon game pass. Which then allowed for reoccurring payments.

Hi Ron

I have managed to fix the issue. Steps as follows -

Under profile go to My Subscriptions.
Select active subscription plan (in this case "Ultimate"), cancel the subscription.
- In my case expected renewal was due early April
- As soon as I cancelled the subscription message popped up, welcome to "Game Pass".
I was then able to Play games that I had already downloaded from the XBOX store, additionally I can now also install games using Game Pass.
Went back into My Subscriptions and changed my payment plan back to reoccurring.
Issue now resolved.
