Game Pass (PC) Keyboard Input Lag!

Hi,

Since returning to Game Pass, I am experiencing extreme keyboard lag while using games with Game Pass. For example, I will hold W to move forward and there will be a half-second delay until the character starts moving. Also, there are times when the key release detection is slow, leaving my character running for a few seconds after releasing the key.

My game was running at around 100FPS

I have tested various things including:
-Using a Different Keyboard

-Testing a Different Game on the Game Pass

-Testing Games from other Launchers.

-Using an Xbox Controller

The results:
-Both Keyboards suffered the same input lag, making control of the character impossible.

-Both games on the Game Pass suffered the same input lag, making control of the character impossible.

-Games from other launchers (Epic, GoG Galaxy, Steam and Origin) all worked without any delay or issue.

-There was no delay while using a controller.

(Also to note, the mouse had no delays while using the game pass either.)

Any ideas? This was not an issue when I first used the Game Pass during Summer 2020.

EDIT: Issue only occurs in Fullscreen Mode. No Lag when playing in windowed. (I'd still like a solution as Fullscreen is a much better experience)

+1 Same issue here.

Keyboard input lag only in Fullscreen mode and only on xbox game pass app.

Hi,

I had already checked that thread before posting. This issue with reinstalling windows is that, from what I can find online, you need to do Reset this PC > Keep my Files which will remove all my apps and programs, which could take hours to reinstall all of them and redo the preferences as this include Games and Software I use for my job.

If there is an alternative, I'd like to hear it. If not, then I guess I'm just stuck in Windowed Mode when using the Game Pass.

I'm expereincing the same issue. And didn't managed to find a root cause. May it be related to yesterday Nvidia driver update?

In addition to reinstalling windows, what could work would be the update via Create Windows 10 installation media, this procedure does not erase anything from your computer.

Download the Create Windows 10 installation media application from the link below, at the end of the download run the application, and then follow the instructions given by the program at the end click on upgrade. Rest assured none of your files will be lost, this is a system restore that will try to fix this error.

I see, check the thread below, it is a problem similar to yours where the person managed to solve the problem just by reinstalling windows.
