Game Pass PC - Can't reinstall games that went AWOL

Had a problem last night where half of my downloaded games for Game Pass suddenly went AWOL and I got a message about the game being offline and the storage device might be missing.

First of all, the games are installed on C: so the "storage device" the problem.

I tried the REPAIR option but nothing happened so I uninstalled them to reinstall them. Problem is, now when I click INSTALL, absolutely nothing happens. No error, no download, nothing. For a split second it says "preparing" and then it reverts back to the
INSTALL button. let's be clear... I have over 980gb free space, and I've also tried installing on a different drive.

I have tried from the Xbox (beta) app and directly in the Microsoft Store.

ONLY the games that had a problem do this. I have been able to install other games and update ones already downloaded that were still working (Streets of Rage 4)

I have ran CMD (as admin) and ran wsreset.exe

Ran DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Ran CHKDSK

Rebooted (thanks captain obvious.)

So far I haven't been able to find a solution. Metro Exodus, The Outer Worlds, A Plague Tale, Deliver Us The Moon, and Stellaris simply won't install now. Also, the icon for Metro Exodus is stuck in the start menu despite having been uninstalled. Gives the
option to uninstall, but nothing happens. Doesn't show up in settings-apps.

Well, here we go again after another stupid Windows 10 update...

The Outer Worlds, Metro Exodus, A Plague Tale, Deliver Us The Moon, The Surge 2, Ori And The Will Of The Wisps, and Mechwarrior 5 all broken. That's 7 downloads... Microsoft, get your act together, this is unacceptable that I need to find a way to uninstall
these properly and go around jumping through hoops to get them to download again and use up yet more bandwidth because your service design completely sucks.

They are completely blank icons now, no errors, no nothing. It's like clicking on nothing. In App Settings, using REPAIR and RESET do absolutely nothing to fix the problem.

Plus your Xbox app is broken which seems to be completely ignored, but that's another story.

God I miss the days of Windows 7 when your software worked.

I'm convinced it has something to do with the way it handles the information on the drives. Won't show up in windows disk management, but use another disk tools and you'll see disks (virtual disks I'm assuming) that show up that show up that match the exact
sizes of these games. Steam, no issues. Origin, no issues. Uplay, no issues. GOG Galaxy, no issues. Viveport, no issues. Microsoft, kill me now to end this headache.

Found something of a fix...

In the Xbox (beta) app, in the brief moment (about 2 seconds) where it says "preparing," if you're fast enough, clicking "cancel" and "yes" to confirm cancelling, something happens where the game will actually download after clicking install again. Seems
to me something gets corrupted in the download that doesn't get cleared out with everything I previously tried. Annoying to have to download this stuff again, but at least my internet is fast and not data capped.

Yeah, the option to cancel happens very fast. Took a lot of attempts to get it and practice of where to have the mouse pointer. Unfortunately, I can't provide any other solution.

I even went as far as going through the registry and deleting every reference to Metro to clear it, and it still wouldn't go away. The effect of from being able to trigger "cancel" though resolved that and like the others, I was able to re download it. Once
you manage to hit "yes" to confirm the cancel, it should be ok, but yeah, not easy.

Hey Microsoft... Fix your broken stuff!

I Have the same problem except the cancel button flashes too fast to press it. (Edit) I also noticed that the game (Bleeding Edge) doesn't disappear from my game pass library like other games that I uninstalled. I can't reinstall it and I can't remove it
from my Game Pass library. Like you said, something isn't getting cleared.

I got the issue after restarting my pc after pausing an update. So I uninstalled the game and here I am.
