Game Pass games will open to launcher but won't start.

almost every single game on game pass on my PC will open to a launcher that says "signing in..." but wont actually start the game itself. there is no error message, no pop ups, no crashing, just an infinite loading screen. ive tried every method of troubleshooting for games i could find including verifying game files, uninstalling and re-installing the games that this is happening to, making desktop shortcuts and running as admin. signing out and back in to the game pass app, uninstalling and re-installing the app itself, making sure that windows is up to date, and restarting my PC many times. i am having such a hard time finding anything on this specific issue. if anyone has encountered this and knows a fix please help!

Hello Lyneroth, are you playing on Pc, what would be your operating system, Win 10 or 11?

Have you checked if you have the latest version of Windows installed, at 22H2?

If you haven't updated yet, click the link below, update, and make all subsequent security updates.

Also, make sure all Xbox Apps are up to date in the store, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed, it works with the Xbox App.

If the launcher is available for the Mac, then you won't need to purchase Java edition, as the game is included with Game Pass Ultimate anyway. If you log in with the account you got ultimate with, then you can launch the Java edition from the launcher.

It was the same thing when you linked your Riot account to your Game pass-dito. I don´t know if this still is the case since I unlinked them. I don´t want three different game launchers starting every time i open up the Game pass-app, so I unlinked my Ubisoft account as well.

Forza cannot be opened anymore (the error popup window redirects to the ms-store which forza cannot be opened from either), and the xbox launcher won't launch. Microsoft Store looking for updates runs forever.

UPDATE:
I reinstalled Xbox GameServices and now the game starts again with the error code 0x12c as before

try the instructions from above

Start the launcher, and open up the launcher options
Navigate to Launch Options and find the “Java executable” option and un-check it
Save settings, this will ensure the launcher runs with default runtime it came with.
Open launcher again and try launching the game

If this fails then best to go to the minecraft.net forums for assistance.
