    Hello, ~2 months ago I played FFVIII through Game Pass and I stopped due to other priorities (I unistalled the game). I launched Game Pass today to install FFVIII again and I noticed that it's no longer available. I went ahead and bought the game in Steam. Then I tried to locate and move my save progress from Game Pass to the Steam version but I cant because the save files NO longer exist in Package folder. I think its because I unistalled the game ~2 months ago and it deleted the Save Files WITHOUT informing me.

    Is Microsoft serious? it seems like I need to buy FFVIII in Windows Store, launch it and then my Save Files will be loaded from the cloud to Package folder so I can copy them to the Steam Version. What the heck...

    Does anyone know what else I can try?

    Thanks for reaching out to the forums! Cloud saves are a feature of both the Windows 10 and Steam versions of FFVIII however the cloud saves do not carry over between the two. In order to retrieve your previous Windows 10 cloud saves you would have to have the Windows 10 version installed on your pc.

    Game Pass PC is currently in Beta, this means that not all features are available yet.

    As some games don't have cloud saves - yet, you'll need to
    gain access to the Windows App folde    r to find the save files, as long as this folder is used for save files.

    You'll need to do this on any drive where Windows Game Pass games are installed.

    First, welcome to the community. Unfortunately, this is currently not possible because the structure of the saved files from steam is different from those created by the Microsoft store, even though you can have access to them and if you transferred them to steam they would not be recognized due to this.

    It's also worth mentioning that steam's achievements model is different from the Xbox app, and they're different servers and services too, so it wouldn't be possible to link the same achievements you have in the Xbox app to your steam account.

    There was a third-party application that converted the files, but it is currently not functional.

    Ps, any purchases will still be available to redownload in the store, save game data is kept separate from main game data so any unistalls wont affect it
