Game Pass for PC not allowing installs or updates

Welcome to Xbox Forums. We appreciate you for sharing your concern with us.

We understand that you are experiencing issues with Game Pass for PC that is not allowing you installs or updates, specifically with Destiny 2 DLC. We know how you are feeling right now dealing this from your end and we greatly appreciate your time and effort for doing the steps prior sharing this with us. To be honest, this is not the experience we wanted you to have from your end. Let us go ahead and check for any possible option that we can apply to help address our concern.

In order to better understand our concern, I will be asking you few questions:

1. Is the issue presented to only this game?
   
2. When you tried to install the game, do you see an error message? If yes, can you provide us the error via screenshot?
   
3. You mentioned that you have tried some steps from your end, can you provide us the steps so we can know where to continue?
   
4. Since when was this issue start?
   

In the meantime, you may want to check the following:

• Make sure that all available updates are installed.
  
  • You can do this by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. If there are any pending updates, please install them and restart your computer.
    
• Be sure that the Xbox Game Pass subscription still active and up to date.
  
  • You can check this by going to the Microsoft Store app and clicking on the three dots in the top right corner, then selecting "Downloads and updates" and checking for any available updates for the Game Pass app.
    

If the issue persists, I suggest resetting the Microsoft Store app. To do this, please follow these steps:



1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

2. Type "wsreset.exe" and press Enter.

3. Wait for the command to complete and the Microsoft Store app to open.



After resetting the Microsoft Store app, please try installing or updating the Destiny 2 DLC again.



If the issue still persists, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the Game Pass app. To do this, please follow these steps:



1. Press the Windows key + X and select "Apps and Features".

2. Find the Game Pass app and click on it.

3. Click on "Uninstall" and follow the prompts to uninstall the app.

4. Restart your computer.

5. Open the Microsoft Store app and search for "Game Pass for PC".

6. Click on "Install" to reinstall the app.

Just did 2 Clean installs of Windows 10 1909.

The first install i did all windows updates/Driver updates then installed xbox pc beta game pass then installed 2 games and then attempted to install dragon center from MSI. it installed and then failed to run with the same errors i was getting before.

The second install i installed driver updates and then installed Dragon Center. Configured the system with Dragon Center. Then installed all windows updates, Xbox pc beta game pass and then installed a game and played. Dragon center still worked after playing
the game. once i restarted the computer dragon center was broken with the same errors as before. Something is breaking the program in the xbox pc game pass install.

on the pc game pass version i use it say's "check for updates" I've checked all dates of my games it has not changed the date of last update it only shows game install date. some go back to months or more on pc game pass.

my twin Xboxes get auto updates all the time correctly. the Xbox games pass on them is ok. which shows me there is a pc game pass failure to update problem.

How you fix it?

The problem is the Game Pass App on Windows even if Microsoft won't admit it.

If you use the Game Pass App on your phone, it will allow you to "remote" install the games on your PC. Just make sure to select PC games tab otherwise it will assume you're trying to install on an Xbox console.
