Game Pass for PC games will launch but will not let me play

I'm having an issue with most newly installed games from Xbox Game Pass for PC.
Titles I've re-downloaded and/or played before are working just fine.
The issue I'm facing is that all of these new games I download either hang up at the start screen, close out completely after attempting to get to the main menu, or have thrown an error and then closed.

I can't say exactly when this started happening because I've mostly been playing steam games for the past month or so.

The only thing I can think of being the issue is that for some reason the game is not able to ask me for consent to access my Microsoft account info.
My only basis for believing this is:
1. Games I've already given my consent to still open and play just fine
2. One of the games is No Man's Sky which when stuck at the menu screen attempts to open a new window, but only stays open for a fraction of a second and that window reminds me of the Microsoft account consent window (screen cap at the bottom)
3. An error I got from the game Hypnospace Outlaw (see below) seems to suggest it doesn't have the ability to grab info from my Microsoft account because I wasn't able to consent to it so the game can't authenticate and quits out

Game closes when I click OK on the box

Has anyone else had this happen to them? Or anyone know how to fix it?

Games I've tested and have not played before:

No Man's Sky - Wouldn't let me past the Start screen, would continually attempt to open a window, window would then disappear

Hypnospace Outlaw - Threw an error

Spiritfarer - Wouldn't let me past the Start screen

Descenders - Game closed as soon as it finished loading to the main menu

Night in the Woods - Worked

Kathy Rain - Worked

Battletoads - Worked, Allowed me to play but would not let me switch profiles

Downwell - The same window that I mentioned with No Man's Sky kept popping up and disappearing

Double Kick Heroes - Attempted to opened the same window I mentioned before, stayed on screen for longer than the other then closed followed by the game closing

I own game pass Ultimate and therefore have access to play games on my Xbox and my pc. but recently it seems that if I try to launch a game on my pc it says I need to renew game pass. I know I don't have to renew it because I can play sea of thieves
(a game I don't own but play through game pass) on my Xbox. but when I try to play it on my pc it gives me the message from above. I've looked through my account to my subscriptions tab on the Xbox app on pc. and it tells me I own game pass pc, but if I refresh
the page it'll disappear. I just want to know if this a bug that would be fixed soon or if I need to rebuy game pass for pc. but for now I can't play any game pass games on my pc even though I own game pass ultimate, which is SUPPOSED to let me play game pass
games on console and pc. I've tried restarting my computer, relaunching the game, going onto the Xbox console companion and then going to the my games tab. then I try to launch sea of thieves through there but it NEVER works. I tried this yesterday and
thought maybe it was just a mistake with Xbox servers. but here I am a day later making this post because it still wont work.

I've been having that problem a lot with Game Pass on PC as well. For me, signing out of the Xbox Beta app and then signing back in seems to fix it for a few days. Hopefully that works for you.

i downloaded the fallout 76 xbox game from game pass and launched in it in xbox companion on on my pc. It launches to the load screen but when i select play it gives me the profile privileges message.

You can play on Xbox Family console and you can use your controller. But i think the game launch on PC too with the Xbox Game Pass PC.

Also, the code you gave me to enter into PowerShell isn’t correct. The first portion up to “|Foreach…” isn’t recognized as the name of a cmdlet, a function, script file, or operable program. I double and triple checked the spelling, spacing, etc and it’s still not working.

This is a ridiculously long process. I’m gonna try it anyway. Originally when I saw your reply I refunded my game pass and gave up, but there are too many games on there that I’d like to play without spending a fortune (if I can end up even playing them). Is there no shorter way or something Microsoft can do from their side? I mean, I didn’t even do anything to cause this issue so I don’t understand why I have to go through all of this trouble just to play games.

Looks like you need to renew Game Pass. If your subscription is current, try quitting and relaunching the game.
