Game Pass for PC: Games not saving

I have been using Game Pass for PC for a while now, and there seems to be one reoccurring problem for me which is to do with saving. This includes games not saving at all, or only doing it on the rare occasions. I experience
many problems with games for PC but this is the one that really makes them unplayable, and I cannot find a solution myself. I am now wary of taking the time to install any large/new games as there is a chance I will have this problem.

Examples of this include:

Metro Exodus - Found that this game has only made one save file for me halfway through my time playing it. Got a few hours into it, but after loading the
game up it took me back an hour. Find this strange as you can manually save in-game which I was always doing.

Blaire Witch Project- This game just does not seem to save for me at all. I have read into it, and I understand that the saving system is unique, but still
after getting at least 2 hours into the game I have to start over again. I have played through this 3 times now but can't seem to force a save.

State of Decay 2 - This game seems to be cloud saving. I found that there is a bug which makes the saving icon perpetually spin which blocks a save. You
can go online and offline to force a save, but even this doesn't work all the time, which means I constantly lose game time.

I feel like this is more to do with the Microsoft Store/xbox app rather than the games themselves. Another theory is that this problem occurs for games that have cloud saving systems. But I cannot find local save files (editable)
for any games, so I assume they all use cloud saving in one form or another. Is there anything anyone can recommend for me? Is this a problem many people experience?

Side note: people have similar problems on Steam/Epic games, and are able to fix them in the local files by editing some code, but this is not possible on game pass for PC (so far).
