Game Pass Conversion for Beta Account

I had game pass well over a year ago during the beta phase when the price was $5 per month. I was subscribed for a few months but ended up cancelling the subscription in March 2020, long before Game Pass moved into its current release state (and the price increased to $15 for Ultimate)

I am interested in subscribing, and I have been told that it is possible to convert Xbox Live Gold membership to Game Pass Ultimate at a 1:1 ratio for "new" subscribers, as opposed to the pro-rated 3:2 ratio for existing subscribers. First, can I confirm this is still possible to get the 1:1 conversion, and secondly, would my account be eligible for the 1:1 conversion given that I subscribed previously in the beta but not regular Game Pass?

Anytime you have standard Gold or Game Pass and you purchase Ultimate, it will convert at a ratio of 1:1. It doesn't matter if you're a new subscriber or not. The 3:2 ratio only applies if you already have an active Game Pass Ultimate subscription and you add a prepaid standard Gold or Game Pass code.

So if my account has Xbox Live Gold and I upgrade to Game Pass, will it automatically convert Gold to Game Pass Ultimate or is there some process involved? As a follow up, will I still be eligible for the $1 game pass signup offer if I participated in the beta?

Yes, it will automatically upgrade the Gold to Ultimate. The $1 promotion is only available for the new subscribers. If I remember correctly, the $5 promotion was only for Game Pass for PC, not for Game Pass Ultimate, so if you haven't hadn't Ultimate before, you may be eligible for the $1 promotion. But the system will show you how much you would be charged when you start to make the purchase. If you're not eligible, it'll show you the $14.99 price.

If he is not part of the beta, that means that his account was downloaded onto a console that was a part of the beta. Because of the conversion of points to cash, he will only be able to purchase content from a console that has the beta. Since the beta is
closed, there is no way around this conversion on the current console, and there is no way to reverse the conversion. So, whatever console he downloaded his account to that has the beta is where he needs to go back to in order to purchase any content.
