    do you need gamepass to play already purchased Sea of Thieves?

    The game is a multiplayer game, so will need Game Pass Core (New Name for Gold) or Game Pass Ultimate (Includes Game Pass Core) to play it. Looking at the list on the Game Pass Core page https://www.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-game-pass/core, Sea of Thieves is not included with the subscription.

    I thought that you guys got rid of Xbox live now it says I need a subscription for every game I own to play online I was able to play online 2 days ago.

    Gold was discontinued and replaced with Game Pass Core. You still need Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate (which includes Core) to be able to play online.

    Do games claimed as 'Games with Gold' work if I've changed to Gamepass for Console

    Games with Gold would require Game Pass Core (or Ultimate, which includes Core). Since Game Pass for console does not include Core, Games with Gold games will not work with it.
