Game pass 3 months for 9.99

I was trying to get the game pass deal of 3 months for 9.99 and hit the free trial button, thinking I would the the trial and the 3 month deal but when I go to manage subscriptions, it tells me I will be billed 9.99/mo. Why am I not allowed to get the 3
month deal if I sign up for the trial?

On the Subject of the 3 month game pass. I took the deal for 3 months for 9.99 for games pass. I never had it before now. And yet the charging me for 1 month pass for 9.99. I got this feeling I being rip off here. Been a member with Xbox for the
pass 9 years! I got my Xbox one back in 2017 around July. Never used the game pass then. So tell me why I am not getting it for 3 months?

The 3 month promotion is only for new user, so basically anyone who has never used it before. So once you use the trial you're no longer considered a new user.

The deal is currently available on this page. Select 3 months to buy on the page where you would regularly buy game pass and it says 67% off for 3 months for $9.99 USD:

The deal may not work if you'd previously had game pass before.

I found a work around for purchasing the 3 months of game pass for $9.99. If your game pass membership is set to expire soon, cancel your subscription and also cancel your recurring payments. I had to do all of this from Microsoft support cause it wouldn't
let me do it myself which is ridiculous. Anyways after I canceled my game pass subscription and my recurring payments it allowed me to purchase the 3 months for $9.99. Hope this helps all of the existing members of game pass that Microsoft doesn't give these
benefits to.
