Game not downloading, stuck trying

I'm sorry that you are having this problem, when you say the Xbox application I imagine it is the Xbox Game Pass App, is that correct? If this is the case and you are on Windows, I suggest you perform these steps:

Option 1:
click Start > Settings > Update & security > Windows Update > Check for updates
Download and install pending updates
Restart your computer

Option 2:
Download and run the troubleshooter for apps and Windows Store: http://aka.ms/diag_apps10

Option 3:
Press Windows Key +
Click Windows PowerShell (Admin)
At the command prompt, type the following and then press Enter:

Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_. InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

- Open the store, click on the ellipses (3 dots) in the upper right corner
- Click "settings"
- Scroll down and into account, click "Manage your devices" (this will open the browser)
. Remove unused devices from this list that appears if you already have 10 there.

Option 4:
Delete all files in

C:\Users\User_name\AppData\Local\Packages \Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache

Restart your computer

Option 5 brings several steps to follow:

Step 1:

Open Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features
Scroll down to Xbox Game Pass for PC
Select it
Click Advanced Options
Click Finish

Restart

Check for updates in the Store

Step 2:

Open Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features
Scroll down to Xbox Game Pass for PC
Select it Do
click on advanced options
Click Reset

Restart

Check the store for updates

Step 3:

Open Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features
Scroll down to Xbox Game Pass for PC
Select it
Click Advanced Options
Click Uninstall

Restart

Check for updates in the Store

Download and then reinstall Xbox Gamepass again:
