Game not detected after reinstalling drive

I recently RMA'd my laptop to fix a fan issue and before I did so, I removed my secondary SSD where I have all of my games installed. Upon receiving my computer back I reinstalled the SSD, however Microsoft Store and Xbox no longer detect having Forza Motorsport 7 installed (the only game I had through Microsoft store), despite the files still being on the drive.

I attempted to reinstall the game to check if this would fix the issue but the Xbox app tells me "This location isn't set up for installing games." for my D drive. When I go to change the location for new apps, it tells me "This drive has apps from another device..." and I say Yes, but then get error 0x80070005.

I tried restarting, but I still had the issue.

I can't uninstall the game because it doesn't recognize that it is installed in the first place.

I get error code 0x80070005 when I try and change the install location of new apps, but there are only steps for the Xbox for this code.

I have administrator privileges.

I have 350 GB of space available on the drive.

I tried reinstalling Gaming Services but still get the error when trying to change the location where new apps are saved.

May your HD was not detected at this Moment,, so it went to reinstall it on the internal?

Can you say on which drive it will reinstall?

Is the drive being detected under Storage? If it is not then try the following link please:

Troubleshoot external storage detection on Xbox One

I would recommend connecting the external drive to a PC/Laptop and if it is detected then what needs to be done next is a reset to the external drive itself.

1. Plug the drive into the port on the PC or Laptop

2. Go to files explorer

3. Locate the drive (is it detected)

4. If detected, right click then format

This will wipe the drive. After, eject the drive then plug the drive back into the console port

Side Note: it may have you format to match the console in NTF format

If it doesn't work, check if the hard drive is at least detected on your PC. Worst case, you will have to reformat (as NTFS) and reinstall your games.
