Game Installation

For some unknown reason I can't seem to install any game that has an update. I uninstalled my Battlefield 4 a few weeks ago, and when I try to reinstall it, it says there is an update so as usual I 'Update now' but the installation gets stuck at 25% and
even if I restart it, it goes extremely slow. I've cleared my local storage, power reset my xbox, tried to install it when my console is offline- I've done everything I can think of and not a single forum is helping. How do I fix it?

Have you tried installing the game only, without the update? Try that, you should be able to download the update after the game installs.

I actually have a similar problem, except my game gets to around 80% before slowing to a trickle. I thought it was because the disc was dirty, but I cleaned it and the installation is still reacting the same. Your theory about the update may be the cause,
though I don't think I can cancel the update installation.

FYI, the game I'm installing is Ghost Recon Wildlands.

I've tried that, it still doesn't work. I literally have to sit on the Games and Apps and continue to carry on the installation everytime it stops. The network is done, but the rest of the game stops.

Thank you for keeping us updated. Is this game a digital download, or a disc game? If it is a disc game, the disc could be faulty if used. Let us know this detail and we will do our best to help you out.

I would also test out your console to see if it is capable of completing downloads. Cancel the download for the cars game. You can then try downloading a demo, or a free game like fortnite.

Curious, how long have you let it sit at 40%? I've had games do this occassionally, and I'll see it sitting still when downloading and not progressing. I've honestly just left it and did something else, and came back later (maybe a half hour) and then
it would be moving a little again. I'm not sure if maybe the specific file it's downloading at that time might be larger or how it works, but I've done that before. I would let it sit for a little bit and see if it moves, but if it's not moving after 30-60
minutes then yes try more troubleshooting. Good luck!

Although you have stated that you have already redeemed the code, I would just like to make sure you are doing it on the right account first, then, if you are, please go to https://redeem.microsoft.com/ and type
in the code, from there it will tell you if the code is valid or not and you can proceed on to redeeming it. I am really sorry that this is being more complicated then it should be for you! I hope you have a great rest of your week!
