Game installation stuck at 0%, then download fails completely

I go to load a game and it requires an update, so I go to update it. After a while the download fails and it says the following: 'We had to stop installing. If you're still connected, try installing later, when your network might be faster. (0x87e00005)'
Note this is a game downloaded directly from the store, no disc.

My connection is fine and I am able to load apps already installed no problem. I try all the usual troubleshooting steps. I've power-cycled the Xbox, uninstalled the game entirely, reset the Xbox (keep games and apps version) and changed my DNS settings
to see if that would help but nothing is making a difference. I really don't want to do a factory reset of the whole console so there's gotta be a way of fixing this? That will of course be my last resort but I would appreciate any tips on how to get this
issue resolved. Note this isn't just affecting one game. Any digital game I own that I try to download onto the console (ones I've long deleted) all fail to install with the same error message coming up. Again, internet connection is working fine for everything
else so it can't be a problem my end.
