Discus and support game has taken too long too start (0x8027025a) in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; over half of my downloaded games seem to hang on start up and give me the above error code. the other half of my downloaded games work fine, all discs...     game has taken too long too start (0x8027025a)


    over half of my downloaded games seem to hang on start up and give me the above error code. the other half of my downloaded games work fine, all discs work fine.

    What I have tried so far:

    Hard reset by pressing and holding the Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds,

    turned off power for 10 mins

    cleared cache

    changed mac address

    uninstalled game and then hard reset and reinstalled game (NOT all of them yet)

    I have set turn on, to the energy-saver setting

    But nothing seems to work!

    Anyone have any ideas?

    My games won't start with error code!

    Each game I try to. Start gets an error message and code. Game name* has taken too long to start 0x8027025a. Any help?

    I've noticed this happening as well( and 70% of my games are digital purchases) and also sometimes when starting up a game it'll all of a sudden make a loud noise from machine( just upon loading game for 1st time & only for about 3 seconds) I can't believe

    Take the power cable out of your Xbox, take out the disc, blow the dust from the air ventils away and let the xbox cool down for 30 min. and try again. And the loud noise the Xbox makes when it starts a game is just the engine of the Xbox breathing a little
    extra since your opening a game/app that is closed game has taken too long too start (0x8027025a) :)

    I have discovered that my external drive was the issue,

    No warnings or error messages relating to the drive, however if the drive is connected, the games wont play.

    I disconnected the drive - redownloaded everything and it all works. Connect the drive again - formattted - so nothing on it - and the games dont play!
