Game DVR won't save captures

Discus and support Game DVR won't save captures in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; Occasionally I like to save images and videos.     Game DVR won't save captures


    Occasionally I like to save images and videos. Normally this is fine, it all works correctly and I can see my clips and images, share, save and more. Recently I ran out of my Gold subscription. I thought nothing of it, and took a few more images and videos.
    They show on my device, however, I can't share or save them. I read that it was an issue where you couldn't upload anything without Gold, and that renewing your subscription would make these options take effect in the next few minutes at most. I renewed my
    subscription, but it didn't change anything. I still couldn't share or save those few captures I took whilst without Gold. Curious, I took another few captures, and these were immediately available for both sharing and saving, so I've come to the conclusion
    that my captures taken whilst without Gold are stuck on the Xbox forever, and can't be salvaged. Is there any way to recover them, or to get around this issue?

    Not Recording Clips

    What game are you playing ? Is it battlefield 4 ?

    Because my DVR won't capture 100% with that game. Other games are fine, just that one is broken.

    Just tried on a separate account. I created a 22 second clip and then opened game DVR. Got the same error message on the other account:

    "Capture Not Saved

    Sorry, the capture you selected was not saved. Please try again."

    Hi,

    To see where your captures are saved, open the Xbox App, select Settings, and then select Game DVR. Under Saving captures, select Open folder to see your captures in File Explorer.

    By default, game clips and screenshots are saved in your Videos folder, in a folder named
    Captures. This can be moved to different places on your PC, including elsewhere on your hard drive or to external drives. Your Windows 10 PC saves the default storage to where the Captures folder is created.

    What game are you playing ? Is it battlefield 4 ?

    In-game voice chat is not captured on the Xbox DVR game clips - unless the game has a built in chat system that could make it record but it usually won't.

    Using the Xbox as a DVR won't work to my knowledge. Using it for game footage capture works, but I don't believe that is what you wish to do.
