Game download fails at 4%

I purchased NBA 2K16 a few days ago, which should have allowed me to download and play before the launch date (which incidentally, is today). Instead, every time I attempt to download the game it reaches 4% and fails with the 0x87e0000f error code.

I have been in contact with XBox Twitter support, and spent over an hour in a chat with them trying to fix the problem to no avail.

So far I have tried:

- Resetting my router and hard-cycling the console, repeatedly.

- Deleting and re-downloading my profile.

- Trying a different Wi-fi connection. I tried my neighbours, and also tried to at least move past the 4% lock by using my phone hotspot.

- Downloading a different game (Children of Light), which worked fine. It seems to only be NBA 2K16 that doesn't want to work.

It was 2AM when I was talking to the support guy, and at that point I gave up. I've gone through Twitter, the error code forum and endless amounts of Googling around trying to find a solution, but I haven't found anything.

Hey, I'm having this problem on my Xbox 360. I was downloading 'Call of Duty: First Strike Map Pack' for my second time on a DIFFERENT Xbox, and it reached 99% then it says 'Can't download' at the last percent. What should I do? Thank you.

 

Sorry to hear it. I have searched this code online and one person who was getting it said that he was able to resolve the issue by having the download go straight to the internal drive instead of his external. If you have an external hard drive you could
try switching that.

Another option would be to power cycling the console down and unplug everything from it and let it sit for 5 minutes. During this time you could unplug the modem and let it sit for a few minutes. This would clear the cache from both devices and would hopefully
resolve the issue for you.

 

I'm having issues installing Halo MCC and Forza Motorsport 6 both digital. I can download any DLC but the main game always comes up with an error. I've recently rolled back my dashboard update to get out of the preview dashboard. Please help..
