Game disc is unstallable, unreadable, but it's perfectly fine.

Yo so my Xbox one x disc drive doesn't work, but the other day I tried...2K16 cause it's the only game I have on disc besides destiny 1, sekiro, and ESO. It worked surprisingly and downloaded the game?! And ESO works, but I think only because I have it on game pass. Sekiro though doesn't..and it's not the game. It works on my friend's Xboxes. Actually since problem started to persistent more frequently as days went by. Because of this I sold all my other discs. I've cleaned it, i've troubleshot it, I've done the energy saving method, disc pulling method, before all this happened I even took apart my Xbox and cleaned it so well. 90% of the time it won't show an error message. I uninstalled the game thinking it might fix the problem, but now It won't recognize the disc or even start an installation or even acknowledge I put a game in and it's so frustrating because I'm so nearly done with sekiro after it becoming one of my favorite games and taking hours to beat those bosses and I really don't wanna waste money on the same game especially when I'm so close to beating it. I even take the upmost care in all my electronics so what's up? Please give me every answer and help possible.

I'm sorry but since the disc works fine on a different console, that only means that it's an issue with your disc drive and the console needs a service. I totally understand that you are having issues with the console. No worries, I have here the link to request a service for your console, make sure to register it first:

Given you have taken the thing apart and tried everything that an XBox support person would recommend (near as I can tell) , the only option really is to find a local electronics repair shop that deals with consoles. Well, unless you try and replace the drive itself but that is not allowed to be discussed here

The reason it seems to be working when playing from the disc is that your xbox hasn't had any reason to access the data in the damaged part of the disc yet. When it does need to you will get a disc unreadable error or the game will freeze.

When installing it needs to access the whole disc which is why it always fails.

And to answer your question it will say disc unreadable at some point when the game needs to access the damaged part of the disc.

As you've already tried one of those disc repair services then your best option is to get a new disc.

Am having this problem as well.

Installed Disc 1 perfectly, then it froze on disc 2. Seeming to render all my GTA 5 discs 'unreadable'. I have exchanged the game, to no avail.

All my other games like halo, etc. play smoothly and without issue.

Unstall warzone and then put disc in and reinstall it back up
