"Game could not start. Please try downloading again." error.

I have recently purchased Minecraft for the xbox , and a long time ago i bought Supreme Commander 2 (both digital, downloaded copies). Both have the same "Game could not start. Please try downloading again" error. I have tried redownloading Supreme Commander
2 multiple times and it still wont work. Someone please answer because i hope i didnt waste 60$ on both of these games together.

ugh so i have to pay another $100-150 to play an xbox game. great. so annoying,

Ooooh.

You may have an HDD that isn't official.

There have been many, MANY reports of HDDs purchased via amazon to be fake, and considering the extremly low price of the one in that link, I would say that it is most likely a fake.

A real official xbox 360 HDD averages $150, and can rarely ever be found for less than $100.

Original Xbox games, disc or download, need the real deal.

Have you tried deleting the games, then clearing the system cache before redownloading? If I remember right this can be done through Settings > Storage. Hope this helps.

Oops, sorry. Forgot to include the error message! It's the typical "Game could not be started, please download the game again." message.

That is a strange issue. What hard drive do you have, is it official? Try using the system without the hard drive attached and download a demo or an arcade game direct to a USB flash drive, does the download work?

well i only downloaded the updates about 3 weeks ago cause i never had internet set up at my previous home so im new to xbox live and iv kept trying it but same error and yes i tried to recover it but the error crops up all the time it constantly says try
downloadign game again i click yes and it goes to a white screen and says connecting to xbox live then it says downloading updates after about 5minites it sends me back to the dashboard where i try again only to be met by the same error

Hey mate, from where did you purchase your HDD? And did you by chance use a transfer cable with it? If so, was it an official first party Microsoft cable?
