Game clips don't appear in Xbox app.

Do you mean upload your capture to Xbox Live?

If yes, you should be able to do it following these steps:

1. Navigate to Game DVR using the app's sidebar. By default, your most recently recorded clips will be displayed at the top of the list.
2. Select a clip from the list. A preview for the clip will appear on the right-hand side, alongside the options to trim and rename the clip before it's uploaded.
3. When the clip is ready to be uploaded, click the Upload button below the preview.
4. A menu will open asking for the name of the game featured in the clip. If the game is supported, it will appear under PC Games when entered into the search bar. If the game appears, click the game to select it.
5. A final confirmation step will appear, to ensure the upload matches the title you've selected. Microsoft claims that game clips will be reviewed before appearing on Xbox Live, so a small delay can be expected during the review process.

To double check if your clip was successfully uploaded, check the Xbox Console Companion app, there you'll be able to watch Uploaded clips

Thanks for posting! The primary app we recommend using to check and manage your game clips will be the Upload Studio app. If you delete a clip after recording, does it show up in the Upload Studio app? If it does still appear right away, does waiting a minute
or two reflect that the Clip is deleted properly?

Let us know if the Upload Studio app behaves as expected.

You can have up to 10GB in the Xbox network, probably those clips are saved locally, in this case you need to export them to your OneDrive.

You can do it selecting the clip, press A on the share icon, and select OneDrive.

Can take a while to appear in your OneDrive depending on the upload speed

We appreciate for your prompt response and letting us know that your game clips appeared back through your Xbox app and Xbox console. It was possible that some of our game clips are not viewable in your Xbox app for mobile because it was not uploaded to the Xbox network and remain in your device where it was recorded on.

With your inquiry on how to use an external drive to save all your game clips captured as backup, you can use a USB formatted as NTFS. See the details on the screenshot.
