Game clip recovery

Recent game clips weren't appearing. I contacted a live agent and they told me to do a factory default on my console.

Now everything is gone, except for two clips that were uploaded but expire soon.

Was I completely misled?

And why were my recent clips gone if there's older ones still present?

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

To set your expectations properly, when you perform a factory reset, any locally stored data, including game clips, is erased unless it has been uploaded to the Xbox network or backed up externally.

This means that clips stored only on your console are permanently deleted.

And with the remaining clips that you have seen from the account, it has been uploaded to the Xbox network or another cloud service before the reset.

It was not affected because they were stored on the network but they may have expiration dates if not saved.
