    Game chat not working while in party chat


    Whenever I'm playing games like Rainbow Six Siege or sea of Thieves I prefer to be in a party with my friends sometimes though if we don't have a full squad or we see someone on the Seas you want to communicate with them now. One thing I've noticed ever since being in the alpha skip ahead ring is that once you join a party on Xbox when switching to game chat the game chat doesn't work I tried plugging out my headset and plugging ity back in, turning off my controller and turning it back on. My NAT type is open and my privacy and Online safety is set to adult so there should be no problems the only way to get game chat working again is to restart my Xbox. If anyone could help me out it'd be much appreciated.

    Post if your in-game chat DOES work (not party chat).

    Sometimes mine works and sometimes it doesn't. But today I was in a private party chat and I could hear game chat plain as day in my party chat while I was still hearing my party chat members. They could also hear me talking back to them in game chat somehow.
    There are some definite issues with this.

    I also couldn't talk to people in game through Kinect while I was wearing my Astro headset, but I was in party chat with my friend i was playing with. The kinect worked for party chat.

    One thing that worked for me was if you start an xbox party and then you join a fortnite party and go to the voice chat tab it should give you an option to switch to game chat. Also with the new season I can hear people party chats while in a xbox party

    Party chat is a voice chatroom that resides in the operating system of the Xbox. Game chat is the chat feature built into a certain game. Party chat allows users to chat while playing different game titles. Do a search on Xbox.com about NAT ratings.
