Game Chat in Games

I know this may be a bit late to be asking this, but I have been wondering about this recently. Why is game chat not required on Xbox One when playing certain games?

For example, I remember the days I would hop on Call of Duty: Black Ops II on my Xbox 360 and play Search & Destroy and there was force game chat and no party chat was allowed when playing that game mode. Now that it is not mandatory and I just don’t think
feels the same.

Please let me know your thoughts or opinions on this topic.

It might be because most people play with friends against randoms and the majority of online players are toxic to talk too.

I think it has something to do with the change in times. Games these days that are meant for older people are taking on a younger audience so its probably for the best people aren't forced to talk to strangers even if it runs the risk of some gameplay structure.
Jus an opinion, I guess.

I think games like that nowadays encourage you to go into game chat only if you want because there's more independence in being able to play without having to need help, you know what I'm saying?

Yes, I can see where you are coming from. However, there is some games that I would find necessary that you are forced tk go to game chat. For example, Overwatch is a hero based game with 3 classes, Tank, Support, and Assault. In Overwatch they designed
it to be a teamwork oriented game in order to win. If you are solo queuing it would difficult to work with your team if the rest of the team is partied up in a party chat. Therefore, you may not when the game as there is no “I” in team. That’s just my opinion,
team oriented games should require game chat.
