Game captures not always saving - Beta Insider

Hi, in the temp folder, the recordings are saved inside other folder?

If yes do this instead.

Go to Windows settings > gaming > captures > open folder > drag that folder to the Videos folder in your PC.

After that try doing a new recording and you should be able to see the new recording saved there.

If that doesn't work create the Captures folder inside Videos.

Then delete the registry keys associated with the game bar :

Press Windows key+R then type regedit and press Enter.

Go to this path (expand the folders using the little ">")

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GameDVR

Once there delete all the keys except (Default), restart your PC and check if you can save the clips inside Captures

As already known capture have all kinds of problems after last update (15.5),
but the main issue is that 4K Capture not working at all any more.

Insider update already fixed that Issue in their last update (10.0.19041.2946) but this is available only for insiders Delta and Beta Rings users.

Well apparently that's not correct, unless it simply wasn't saving any of my captures at all while I was offline, which I had no way to check because it's impossible to view captures while offline, but it always said the captures were saved successfully. No system reset was performed except for the system update once I had internet again, which appears to be when the system erased all the captures. I'm not even the only one to have this problem of locally stored captures disappearing.

It's always a good policy to save your captures otherwise you might lose them by constantly getting new ones.

See if they are still available in the hard drive. (Captures Menu - Filter for "Saved in console")

The best is to explain how works the capture system in xbox one. When you capture a screenshot or a clip the first thing that the console do is save locally, in the hard drive and then will automatically (if you have cloud space available) upload to xbox live
server. Even if you delete or xbox live deletes the capture, it will be always available locally in the hard drive.
