Game bar won't register mic when overlay isn't active

I have tried all of the potential solutions listed above, and while uninstalling and reinstalling seemed to fix it for a time, upon booting my computer today I have the same issue again. I believe something within the update that came out on the 28th messed this up somehow, as I am not the only one who has this issue, as per some other forum posts I've seen online.

I do not want to have to uninstall and reinstall the application over and over for it to function properly. According to all of my observations this is not something I can fix on my end. If any other solutions can be provided, that would be great.

I have the same issue. The workaround I'm using is to "pin" the Party Chat Game Bar widget. This way, the party chat stays visible when the rest of the Game Bar overlay disappears, and it keeps your mic active.

There is a workaround: in Game Bar you can pin the party chat so that it stays active when the Game Bar overlay disappears. Click the pin icon on the party chat widget. Hopefully they fix it properly soon.
