Game Bar Video Capture Mic changes to disabled (Win + Alt + M) after starting a Party chat...

It might be a bug but when I start up a Party Chat my Game DVR disables the Microphone in the Game Bar Capture Widget. No matter which way you attempt to check box within Settings -> GameBar -> Captures -> Turn on Mic by Default when I record, the Mic will
disable itself once you create an xbox party.

So I get this strange behavior:

1: My video recording only has my voice as if I am talking to myself.

2: I only hear the other people talking and not my voice.

3: You only hear Game audio as if nobody is talking and that option is left unchecked in Game Gar Capture settings.

Note if I close down the party chat my voice will then be recorded during the video stream. If I start a new Party, I can pull up the GameBar and click to re-enable the Mic in the capture widget to be able to record my voice during the capture but I must
repeat this step every time I want to recorde a live game. It's becomes very frustrating to have to remember that when trying to get the last 10 minutes of play.

Also for some reason my last 10 minutes comes up short like less than 4 minutes and it starts and stops somewhere at a random spot in the recording. It is suppose to stop the capture just before the moment of hitting Win Alt G.

Yes the Xbox app is installed. The companion app isn't.

    :)

Xbox Companion Streaming Microphone Not Working

I'm pretty sure that the Xbox Console Companion app is now outdated. You should probably use the new Xbox app.

Is your issue related to using your mic in the actual app or your mic using Game Bar?

Game Bar party chat is much better than the app's built-in party chat and will most definitely pick up your mic.

(You can activate Game Bar by pressing Win + G)

You can also change your default mic in the Settings in the Sound tab.

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

My name is welcome to the community.

Hello John, by companion you see the captures, but through windows game bar you can capture as video.

Press Botton Windows + G, that bar appears, and then Windows + Alt + R to start a recording.

Broadcast xbox party from xbox game bar on pc with console players

Connect your Xbox console to your PC using an Elgato HD60S+ capture card. You can do this by connecting the HDMI output from your Xbox to the HDMI input on the Elgato HD60S+ and then connecting the Elgato HD60S+ to your PC via USB.

Open the Xbox Game Bar on your PC and start a party chat with your Xbox friends.

In Streamlabs, add your Elgato HD60S+ as a video capture device by selecting "Video Capture Device" under the "Sources" tab.

Once your Elgato HD60S+ is added as a source, right-click on the source and select "Properties."

In the "Properties" menu, select "Configure Video" and make sure the "Custom" option is selected.

In the "Custom" menu, set the "Audio Input" to "Capture audio only." This will capture all audio from your Elgato HD60S+ including your Xbox party chat audio.

Start your stream in Streamlabs and your Xbox party audio should now be included.

Shift F enabling Microphone Feedback in Xbox Game Bar or Xbox Beta App

Open Xbox Game Bar and check:

    • Settings - Shortcuts - Microphone On/Off (default is WinKey + ALT + M, check entry field to see if you added a custom key binding)
    • Settings - Party Chat - Push To Talk - Enable Push To Talk (default is unchecked for me)

    Good luck!

Can you use x box game bar to screen capture?

Yes, the default key shortcut is Win Key+Alt+PrntScrn. You can open the Game Bar app and click on the gear icon and check your hot key settings to be sure what captures are set to.
